Playground cleaning

Playground cleaning can be a fun job , revealing fun colours and cheering up the area. Wet pour playground floors are very popular with families, schools , councils and most of all – children !
The surface is usually constructed with rubber from recycled tyres. It’s attractive colours are added and then the compound is bonded together with resin. Looking exciting is important, but being  environmentally sound is vital and it means this process is sustainable.
The main benefit of this product is safety. Who can forget falling on rough tarmac or concrete as a child in the 80s’s! The rubber provides a bouncy soft landing area for hands knees and heads.

How is it cleaned ?

We clear the area first of debris, leaves , litter etc. Then we will apply a detergent which softens the contamination. This is usually in the form of organic growth – algae and lichens. This means we use biocidal products which produce a chemical reaction- breaking down the bonds in the organic matter and reducing it to ‘dead’ waste. In this altered state it no longer clings to the substrate and is therefore easier to wash away. We then use our industry standard cleaning equipment to pressure wash the whole area ,leaving zero dirt behind. Don’t worry this causes zero damage when the correct equipment is used appropriately.

Keep it clean

We would recommend a light application of a biocidal treatment – Algoclear Pro every 6 months ( depending on surroundings trees, etc). This prevents algae and lichens getting chance to re-colonise. Then a deep clean on an annual basis will mean the area is tip top. We also clean the playground equipment , sanitising the handles , handrails, bins, seats and benches. Wooden structures greatly benefit from our biocidal treatment as this acts as a preservative and stops rot setting in.
