Gutter cleaning is an ESSENTIAL maintenance. Do not neglect the drainage system of your building. When it was designed and built, the gutters were included for a reason – to safely drain off the rainwater without causing damp or long term damage to the property. These gutters quickly fill up with leaves, moss, dirt, and debris. A particularly troublesome area is elbow joints from where the horizontal gutter joins the downpipes. These can quickly become blocked up. The water cannot flow where it should and the gutters fill up and overflow, often down the house walls.

When should I clear out my gutters ?
Now is the time to make sure your gutters are clear and running freely. Leaving it till winter is asking for problems as freezing conditions can cause standing water to expand and components to break. Downpipes and joints can quickly become blocked up with moss and leaves collecting. If your building is surrounded by trees , and especially if the trees are above your roofline , it does make sense to wait until all the leaves have fallen off. In some cases it is necessary that we clear these buildings gutters twice a year.
Do you use ladders ?
We have used ladders for years and always bring them to the job. However, we manage to clear most gutters from the ground with a high powered vacuum and extension poles reaching up to 40 foot. These have a camera attached to the top which shows us what’s going on in the gutter. This makes sure we don’t miss areas or even small amounts of detritus.
The other benefit of using the vacuum and poles is less wear and tear on your building. Ironically , leaning ladders and walking on roof tiles can potentially create more problems than a blocked gutter !
Do you clean the outside of gutters ?
Yes . The white PVC gutters can come up nicely and improve the look of a property. This would be described as a ‘clear AND clean ‘.
Can do you clear downpipes and drains?
Yes if necessary we have the equipment in the van to jet downpipes and drains at ground level. For drains below ground you will potentially need a specialist drain jetting company with a camera.

Generally a gutter CLEAR will cost between £60 and £120 but each job is priced individually. We often end up cleaning the whole roof as moss is a big problem for gutter blockages.
