This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on the PureGem Surface Clean website.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. It is sent back to the website each time you visit, and it can be used to remember something about you that you are logged in, for example, or what is in your shopping basket.

2. Do we use cookies?
Yes, only with your permission. What the website may store falls into four groups:
A record of your cookie choice – set by our consent tool so that we do not ask you the same question on every page. This is strictly necessary and is set whatever you choose.
Analytics cookies – set only if you accept them.
Third-party content – the embedded Google map may cause Google to set its own cookies. This happens outside our consent banner.
3. Our Consent Banner
When you first visit, a banner explains what we would like to store and asks you to choose. It is there so that nothing optional of ours is set on your device before you have agreed to it. How the banner works:
Nothing optional is pre-selected.
You can reject as easily as you can accept.
Your choice is remembered for up to twelve months, after which we ask again. The record is stored in a cookie on your own device.
Rejecting does not spoil the website. Every page, the quote form and our contact details work exactly the same way.
We keep a record of the choice you make so that we are able to show that consent was given, as data protection law requires us to be able to do.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
These are needed for the website to remember your choices and work properly. Because they are essential, they do not require your consent.
The consent record, Our consent tool stores a cookie on your device recording which categories you accepted or rejected, and when. Without it, we would have to ask you on every page you visit, and we would have no way of proving that we had respected your choice. It contains your consent preferences and a timestamp. It does not contain your name, your email address, or anything that identifies you personally.
5. Analytics cookies
These tell us how the website is used. When analytics is switched on, it will run only for visitors who have accepted it and never before.
